El Indy Jazz Fest ha invitado a participar, en su XX versión en Indianapolis, Indiana en Estados Unidos, a las agrupaciones de los pianistas Oscar Micheli de República Dominicana y Harold López-Nussa de Cuba - en una noche que presenta a nuevos maestros del jazz latino!!
En su carta/invitación comentan estar deseando celebrar el jazz por medio de reunir a nuestras comunidades, artistas, académicos y entusiastas del jazz. También ansiosos de disfrutar y seguir aprendiendo sobre el jazz dominicano, sus raíces, su impacto, y en especial sostener diálogos interculturales; al igual que con el jazz cubano.
El Oscar Micheli Trio, de Santo Domingo, República Dominicana es conformado por Micheli en piano, Guy Frómeta en batería y Roberto Reynoso en bajo, que combina ritmos íntimos pan-americanos-dominicanos con muchos estilos de jazz, que a su vez dan como resultado una cálida sofisticada y elegante mezcla de sonidos.
Y, Harold López-Nussa, quien abrirá la noche, refleja la gama completa y la riqueza de la música cubana, con su combinación distintiva de elementos clásicos, folclóricos y populares, así como su acogida de la improvisación e interacción del jazz.

In Indianapolis - A Night of Latin Jazz Piano

Indy Jazz Fest has invited the jazz groups of pianists Oscar Micheli from the Dominican Republic and Harold Lopez-Nussa from Cuba to participate in its 20th version in Indianapolis, Indiana - a night that will showcase new masters of jazz Latin!!
In their invitation they comment looking forward to celebrating jazz by bringing together our communities, artists, academics and jazz enthusiasts. Also eager to enjoy and continue learning about Dominican jazz, its roots, its impact, and especially to hold intercultural dialogues; likewise with Cuban jazz.
The Oscar Micheli Trio, from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic has Micheli on piano, Guy Frómeta on drums and Roberto Reynoso on bass; they blend PanAmerican and Dominican intimate rhythms with many jazz styles, which in turn result in a warm sophisticated and elegant mix of sounds.
Harold Lopez-Nussa, who will open the night, reflects the full range and richness of Cuban music, with its distinctive combination of classical, folkloric and popular elements, as well as its reception of jazz improvisation and interaction.
