I had the privilege of calling Dominican renowned Jazz impresario Mr. Fernando Rodriguez de Mondesert who most graciously attended to my call today, & thanks to the intervention of Giovanni Sanchez of the Cafe Teatro organization. Hopefully I should be settling down in the near future (thank goodness, I'm exhausted from moving around!), in the "Tierra de Papa Dios", as I affectionately call my adopted homeland of Santo Domingo. This time I should be in the greater Santo Domingo area instead of my previous residence in Santiago, which I will sorely miss but I can always visit. I'm an old diehard Jazz buff, going back to the old days. I call myself a "frustrated Jazz critic" hah hah hah! Anyway, I hope to coincide with the ongoing Jazz festival, about mid to late July. I look forward to meeting with Mr. De Mondesert, & those connected with this musical idiom in Santo Domingo. While here in the New York City area, anyone can contact me at 347-961-5067. I've started checking out the music scene in town prior to departure, visiting Grassroots Tavern at 20 St. Marks Place close to Union Square. A nice two saxes quartet, plays there Sunday evenings at 9 P. M. Jazz receives great support there. In all likelihood, I will muster myself there on Sunday evenings, hopefully until I leave in mid-July tentatively. Grassroots is your typical Manhattan watering hole, with a very eclectic clientele, & fine bartenders, but on Sunday evenings they support "the music". One of my "hobbies" if you can call it that, has been scoping out places Stateside Coast to Coast, where to hang out. But if Jazz is offered, then I usually make the place a regular venue to visit. Again, those in town until I leave, feel free to call me please.
I particularly enjoy meeting musicians, & love to talk to the "cats" whenever they're on break. I sometimes tell the younger cats...."You gotta pay your dues, to play the blues". I have been very privileged, to have made friendships with Jazz musicians in the past, & this includes our beloved Carli Munoz in Old San Juan. Carli is a very successful pianist, who now owns his own bistro close to Pier 1 on the waterfront. Anybody headed in that direction, do stop by & tell him I sent you. I have very fond memories, of my constant visits to Carli's Cafe Concierto, while living in Old San Juan until 2009. Again, 'hope to connect soon with this fine Santo Domingo Jazz scene in the near future. All the best to everyone!

P. D. My real name is David, as I have used this pseudonym in cyberactivism for some time now, but I'm finally retiring from that field, hoping to venture into my serious interest in Jazz, & support & collaborate modestly when I move to Santo Domingo.
